WHAT MAKES US TOP 10
Tallahassee State College has been named a finalist for the 2027 Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence, placing TSC among the nation’s top 10 community colleges.
The Aspen Prize recognizes colleges that achieve exceptional outcomes for students in areas including teaching and learning, degree and certificate completion, transfer and bachelor’s attainment, workforce success, and access to high-value programs. TSC advanced to the finalist stage following a rigorous review process that began with more than 1,000 community colleges nationwide.
A College Built Around Students
At TSC, student success is more than a goal. It shapes how we teach, advise, support, and connect with students from their first interaction with the College through graduation, transfer, and entry into the workforce.
Our Culture of C.A.R.E. creates an environment where students are known, supported, and connected to the people and resources that can help them succeed.
Connections That Start Before Class Does
Student support begins before the first day of class. Advisors, mentors, faculty, staff, and peers help students navigate college, make informed decisions, and stay connected throughout their TSC experience.
A Clear Path To Your Goal
Every student comes to TSC with a different destination. Through personalized academic planning, one-on-one advising, and early support, students can identify the path that fits their goals—whether that means transferring to a university, earning a degree, or preparing for the workforce.
Resources That Meet You Where You Are
Success in college is influenced by what happens both inside and outside the classroom. TSC connects students with resources, including counseling, accessibility services, veteran support, academic assistance, and other services designed to help remove barriers and keep students moving forward.
SUCCESS THAT GOES BEYOND GRADUATION
Student success is measured not only by earning a credential, but by what comes next. TSC helps students build momentum toward a bachelor’s degree, a career, and long-term economic opportunity.
A Strong Foundation for Transfer
TSC is a leading transfer institution, helping students move successfully to universities including Florida State University and Florida A&M University. Through intentional advising, transfer partnerships, and programs designed to keep students on track, students can begin at TSC with a clear plan for where they want to go next.
Credentials That Lead Somewhere
Degrees and certificates at TSC are designed with the next step in mind. Whether students are preparing to transfer or enter the workforce, programs are aligned with real opportunities and the skills employers and universities expect.
Affordability That Creates Opportunity
A high-quality education should create opportunity without creating unnecessary financial barriers. TSC works to keep college affordable through scholarships, financial aid, and support that helps students make informed financial decisions as they pursue their goals.
From College to Career
Career and workforce programs connect students with hands-on learning, industry-recognized credentials, and pathways into high-demand fields. Partnerships with employers help ensure students are preparing for opportunities that exist in the region and across Florida.
